VOLVO XC60 STORAGE
This was actually one of my first projects at Volvo Cars and I did not realize until later the impact of my concept work. During the preview shows of this car the interior head designer even mentioned it as one of his favourite features, which makes me proud to be it's creator! In the XC60 walk around video to the left, the storage compartment is mentioned after about 2 minutes.

Storage space had been identified as a weak spot in the XC60, so more storage space was requested. I was given a few options of spaces were to design storage concepts. The challenges were that it was already quite late in the project and most surroundings could not be changed. The areas were storage was requested also did not have a lot of spare room. Being optimistic, these limitations did not stop me from creating a number of different concepts. After going through project management, cost estimates and safety checks this one concept got through. It was simple enough for a late project introduction, while still providing a significant customer value.
