SMART CAR EXTERIOR FRONT DESIGN
The last year of the university I was part of a project working with converting a Smart™ car to an electric hybrid vehicle. This was done by adding electrical drive to the front axis. Due to the modifications the front of the car got larger and we needed to make a new bodywork for the front. I was one of the responsible of designing, manufacturing and fitting the new front body parts.

On the left you can see some early sketches, a photo of the manufactured parts and of course the final result! It was a design challenge to make it fit well with the existing car and make a nice fit and finish. But in the end I think we succeeded very well. We manufactured five parts in total, all in glass fiber. Two fenders, a bonnet and grill and front made in two parts.
